Zach's Story

   Before coming to the Adult & Teen Challenge program, I was living a chaotic life. I surrounded myself with all the wrong people and wrong things. I was living in utter chaos making all the wrong decisions. I was stuck in darkness satisfying the desires of my flesh. All that I cared about was myself, which led me to manipulating every situation to get whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted it. I was severely depressed and wasn't happy with any aspect of my life. I felt the desire to have more and the desire to have a purpose in life but couldn’t get there due to lack of self esteem stemming from abandonment issues as a child. Narcotics numbed the pain and made life more bearable from the depression I was feeling from not knowing my purpose and being stuck in a chaotic lifestyle. Narcotic use led to two overdoses, which opened my eyes to needing help for change in my life and to the doors of Adult and Teen Challenge.

   This program drastically changed my life. I no longer feel the depression I once felt. I now know my purpose in life! God created me to have a relationship with Him and to bring more souls to His kingdom for His glory. I am now five years clean thanks to ATC and I have met some of the most amazing people ever here. I have newfound family, friends, and brothers that I truly love and care about. This program taught me how to genuinely love and care for people. God called me to this special place to change my life and prepare me to be able to help others overcome their life controlling issues like I did.

After completing the program I worked at our corporate headquarters overseeing corporate events as an executive assistant to the COO. Also, God has blessed me with a beautiful wife and called me to the beautiful state of Vermont to provide leadership.

I am on my way to further grow my roots in the Lord to continue helping men change their lives as mine was changed!
